  5. Installing Vern 1.6
  6. ---------------------

  8. - Copy the distribution file vern16.zip to the directory where
  9.   you want to install vern (eg. c:\Program Files\One Guy Coding)
  10. - if you're running a previous version of Vern you should remove it
  11.   or make a copy before installing this version
  12. - if Vern is currently running close the program.  You might want
  13.   to install Vern in a different directory since you may find it
  14.   difficult to delete the old vernhook.dll file.
  15. - Unzip vern16.zip (winzip is good for this)
  16. - This will unzip the following files,
  17.  
  18.    vern.exe       - Vern executable
  19.    vernhook.dll   - Vern hook library
  20.    vern.hlp       - Vern help file
  21.    vern.cnt       - Vern help file
  22.    readme.txt     - this file
  23.    register.exe   - registration application
  24.  
  25. - Optionally delete vern16.zip
  26. - Run vern.exe
  27.  
  28. NOTE: if you were previously using a old version you should
  29.       delete the files vern95.exe and vern95.hlp.
  30.  
  31. That's it.  If you want vern to start each time you
  32. start windows, create a shortcut in your StartUp
  33. menu, normally,
  34.  
  35. c:\windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp
  36.  
  37. you can do this from the Vern context menu.  Right click
  38. on Vern and select 'Add to Startup Folder'.

  41. Registering Vern
  42. ----------------

  44. Vern is shareware.  You may use the program for 30 days for
  45. evaluation purposes.  After than 30 day period you must
  46. register vern if you continue using it.

  48. You can now register online.  Click on the appropriate button
  49. in the Properties dialog under the Register Tab.  Or point
